Not everything that we expected; We just love it!

We were looking for a simple range without all of the "bells and whistles" that most of the other new ranges come with. I am a retired Engineer-turned-Chef and all I want are burners and an oven that I control. I don't need anything else. For me, "simple" is good. I also don't want a self-cleaning oven since I clean as I go; and I didn't like the "burning smell" that our former ranges emitted when a cleaning cycle is on.The in-oven broiler isn't something that I regularly use, as I have other techniques and cooking resources to achieve the same affect and I don't like having to turn the in-house smoke detectors "off" when the smoke that the broiler creates turns them "on". So, given the fact that this range's broiler is actually electric(!), that didn't matter. That's what I didn't expect. Somehow, in reading the spec's before ordering, I must have missed that. That wouldn't have affected my buying decision, however. I was only interested that the range's electrical requirements were 120-volt and 15-amps. I have yet to use the broiler, so I can't comment on its performance. The burner configuration on this range was also a "plus" for me and is another reason why I chose this range. The four (4) standard burners are of various sizes, and they offer good cooking flexibility. The burners range in size from a small "simmer" burner, all the way up to a large one for big pots and pans. Each burner also has flame adjustments from very low to high. The fifth (5th) oblong center burner is also a plus. This burner has a grate over it allowing the placement of large roasting pans onto it so that meat can be browned, and the rest of the meal brought up to boil and or simmer. Other ranges have a griddle over their burner and no grate, so you can't put a pot over it for direct heating. I have my own cast iron griddle that I can place over this burner if I need to, so there is good flexibility.Last, the large oven heats evenly and true-to-temperature. The first meal that we used this range for was a twenty-four (24) pound, fully stuffed Turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner. Everything else prepared on the cooktop was also superb. The small "simmer" burner was great for the four-hour cook time for the Giblet Gravy Stock.Overall, after more than six (6) months of use, all of the users are very happy with this range.
